About this Role:
Imagineeer is seeking a UX/Data Designer to design secure, intuitive, and compliant user experiences for enterprise data platforms supporting federal healthcare and defense missions.
This role focuses on transforming complex, regulated datasets into clear, actionable visualizations and workflows while ensuring adherence to federal cybersecurity, accessibility, and privacy requirements. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders to design dashboards, decision-support tools, and user interfaces that operate within IL4/IL5 cloud environments and zero-trust architectures. Your time splits roughly 70% UX design and 30% data visualization.
Key Responsibilities:
UX Design and Prototyping
- Design user-centered interfaces for enterprise data platforms, governance portals, and analytics dashboards
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI specifications
- Design role-based and attribute-based interface behaviors aligned to ICAM policies
- Conduct usability testing within controlled federal environments; document findings and drive iterative improvements
- Design secure workflows integrating systems such as MHS GENESIS, TRICARE, and United States Transportation Command
Data Visualization and Dashboard Design
- Translate complex datasets into intuitive visualizations for executive and operational users
- Design governance and analytics dashboards supporting real-time compliance monitoring and leadership decision-making
- Collaborate with data engineers to accurately represent metadata, lineage, and data provenance indicators
- Align dashboards and decision-support tools with auditability and logging requirements
Compliance and Documentation
- Apply Section 508 accessibility standards to all deliverables; validate compliance during user testing
- Develop design documentation supporting compliance reviews and ATO packages
- Create standardized design systems for enterprise analytics products to support long-term consistency
- Maintain design artifacts supporting transition readiness assessments and catalog migration planning
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5 to 10 years of UX/UI design experience supporting enterprise or government systems
- Demonstrated experience designing dashboards or analytics platforms in regulated federal environments
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent; experience with Power BI or Tableau for governance dashboard design
- Experience designing data visualizations for complex, multi-source datasets
- Understanding of secure design principles within zero-trust architectures
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards
- Experience collaborating with engineers in Agile/DevSecOps environments
- Ability to document design artifacts for compliance and audit purposes
- Portfolio demonstrating governance dashboards, data visualization, and accessibility-compliant design (required at application)
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Experience supporting Military Health System or defense healthcare modernization
- Experience designing for IL4/IL5 cloud-hosted applications
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata visualization
- Experience designing executive dashboards for senior government leaders
- Knowledge of privacy-by-design and data minimization principles
- Experience with AI/ML-driven analytics interfaces
- Strong stakeholder communication skills in regulated environments
- Ability to translate policy and compliance requirements into practical user experiences
- Active DoD clearance
